YWLS 2017: Why Conservative Women Are So Strong

Turning Point USA hosted it’s annual  Young Women’s Leadership Summit the past weekend. Close to a thousand woman traveled from across the country to attend the event to be emPOWERed by conservative speakers, activism training, and to network with organizations such as the NRA, Future Female Leaders, Leadership Institute and many others along the way.

On Thursday Charlie Kirk kicked off the event.

Then the students heard from Susan LaPierre.
 
The ladies were very excited to hear from Ben Shapiro. He was the fan favorite.
 

 On Friday morning the ladies heard from former HP CEO Carly Fiorina.


The heard from Dr. Tracy Kemble and Ginni Thomas.

At 11:00 AM they heard from the first daughter in law Lara Trump.

That evening the heard from Wayne LaPierre who said:

“The sure way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good woman with a gun.”

The night of speakers ended with a video from Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to the President:

Her recommendation was to:

“Create a 7 Second, 70 Second and 7 minute speech for peer to peer interaction”

On Saturday morning the attendees heard from Joe Walsh

After Joe Walsh next up was NRA Kimberly Corban. Kim said:

“”Facts don’t care about your feelings and rapists don’t care about your feelings either”

After Kim, Charlie Kirk spoke again and after Charlie Jennifer Grossman spoke. 

That evening the students heard from Kristi McMains.

 

Following Kristi, Rachel Campos-Duffy spoke: 

On Sunday morning the students heard from the final speaker, NRA superstar Antonia Okafor: sp;

Meet and Greet:

What makes Turning Point USA different from many organizations is these grassroots activists who fight for their conservative values everyday get to come and meet these well known speakers, political commentators, and their fellow activists.






Activism, Break Out Sessions, and Parties:

The first party was Pumps and Politics and this was hosted by Future Female Leaders. On Saturday they had 3 policy breakout sessions and 3 activism sessions.  On Saturday night they held a Banquet where the Unsung Hero Award was presented Joshua Recalde-Martinez.

The banquet ended with a speech from Laura Ingraham. On Saturday the first panel was Women in Leadership. With the help of their sponsors they held 4 career breakout sessions. Saturday evening they had the Krav Maga Self-Defence Workshop and the NRA Pajama Party. On Sunday they had their last panel “Women in Media.”

Participating Organizations:

Turning Point USA is fortunate to have built relationships with many organizations. These included the National Rifle Assoication, PragerU, Future Female Leaders and the 2nd Amendment Institute to name a few.

#YWLS2017:

The 3rd annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit had many women who became friends. They helped these students to learn and grow. Finally, Turning Point USA changed the lives of many and provided an experience they will never forget.
